Well, today we had the opportunity to curl up next to the wood stove and avoid the inclement weather or hike. I have to give kudos to Sandy as she was a champ with her decision to go for some additional Camino training. We loaded up our pack systems and headed out on the trails. About 1/4 of the way to our destination the incoming storm front hit us pretty hard. Heavy cold winds combined with the 28 degree temperatures and snow helped us increase our pace. We completed our 3.8 mile hike in a heavy snowstorm. Our elevation was nearly 9000′ and we actually still had quite a bit of energy left before we made it back to our ride. Of course the snow stopped as soon as we hopped into the SUV. I must say I am impressed with how quickly our hiking fitness has improved. Just goes to show you that even at our senior citizen age nothing is impossible.
